Qasidah Burdah
The most famous poem in the world: the “mawlaya salli wa sallim“. It is known as a poem of the lovers of the Prophet ﷺ.
Imam al-Busiri wrote the poem while in a state of complete brokenness and distress, and in utter humility before God. The poem begins with Imam al-Busiri’s struggle against his ego, as he shows the characteristics of true Mohammedan love. Praising the Prophet ﷺ, capturing the events and miracles of the life of the Prophet ﷺ, and praising the majesty of the Holy Quran resulted in the miraculous healing of Imam al-Busiri. His supplication was answered by Allah and the Imam saw the Prophet ﷺ in his dream who cured him of his ailment.
Reading the Qasidah Burdah with awareness will reconcile your heart with your faith, remind you of your bond with Allah and the beloved Prophet ﷺ and in sha Allah you will see him. May we be granted that. This poem has been accepted in the orders of the Awliyaa, the Ulama and scholars read it in large gatherings. It is a true Barakah which you should not spare yourself from.
